The need for rigorous evaluation of components of health care is increasingly recognised worldwide. An important type of evaluation is the randomised controlled clinical trial. What is more, the field is growing and offers excellent career prospects. The MSc (or PG Diploma) in Clinical Trials is suitable for both those wishing to gain an overall understanding of trials before moving into the field, and those who have general or specialist experience in clinical trials. It is suitable for students working in high, middle and low income countries.

Recognising that people's needs are different, the guiding principle in the development of the course was flexibility in both content and delivery. The course gives students control over what, where, how, and when they study. They can study anywhere, set their own pace, and fit study alongside their work or family commitments.

The MSc in Clinical Trials is an online distance learning course that is delivered via web pages and hosted by Blackboard (a Virtual Learning Environment).
